  • Damien Harris is a relative newcomer to the sport of drag racing, stepping into his first ever race car in 1999, it just happened to be a 2000 horsepower funny car!

  • Damien bought his first car in 2001 and then spent two seasons racing Top Comp in Perth. In only his second season racing he finished Runner Up in the WA Top Comp bracket losing the final meet of the season and the championship by a 1/1000th of a second.

  • In 2003 he decided to go Top Alcohol, purchasing a PSI supercharger and stepping up the car. Results were instant with low six second elapsed times over the quarter mile.

  • In February 2004 Damien ran his first ever Top Alcohol event at Western Sydney International Dragway. Qualifying fourth he lost in the first round by a mere thousandth of a second.

  • In June 2004 Damien's ran his second Top Alcohol event, qualifying third and running his first ever five second pass, a 5.901.

  • After two more Top Alcohol events in 2004 Damien decided to upgrade his whole deal selling his Pontiac Firebird and importing a complete turnkey Funny Car from the US.

  • Spending the first six months of 2005 getting the car back to Australia and prepared for racing the 2005 Winternationals was Damien's first meeting of the year. With a brand new Brad Anderson block and RacePac computer on board hopes were high for good times and strong passes and the team were not disappointed.

  • Damien edged out Ben Bray to top qualify in the fast ever Top Alcohol event running a personal best 5.725 @ 247 mph. Losing in the semi finals through a red light against experienced racer Steve Read, Damien was disappointed but by no means down running four five second passes for the weekend, virtually "straight off the trailer" all personal bests and running one of the fastest times of the weekend, @ 253.52 mph.
