Debbie O'Rourke has followed much the same path as husband Grant into drag racing, she has been a partner in every race car the team has had and driven them all as well.
-
Debbie shot to prominence in the late nineties when she drove the supercharged Torana to six second, 200mph+ shots. She became Australia's quickest and fastest female sedan driver, and the world's quickest in a small block sedan.
-
Debbie took a short break in her racing before resuming in a supercharged HK Monaro AA/AP-classed car, nearly identical to Grant's Top Doorslammer. Reaching a quickest ET of 6.62 seconds, Debbie was a definite force in the Top Comp bracket at Perth Motorplex and in Queensland's Supercharged Outlaws.
-
In late 2003, Debbie experienced a spectacular crash at the Willowbank track, which put her out for the rest of the season as the team pooled resources to get Grant's Top Doorslammer on track for the rest of the series. It is actually her chassis that is now in Grant's car!
-
Debbie will resume racing this season at the Motorplex in Perth, driveing the teams second Top Alcohol Funny Car in the Top Comp bracket.
