In recent years Grant has become well versed in building and engineering race cars. That, together with his fibreglass experience, has enables him to offer his experience to the drag racing industry.
-
Western Australia's Grant O'Rourke has become a formidable foe in Top Doorslammer racing. Chasing the series nationally, O'Rourke is in the top eight quickest and fastest Top Doorslammers in Australia.
-
Beginning racing in an HK Premier in Super Street, O'Rourke moved on to a Super Sedan Torana that was successfully campaigned at the now defunct Ravenswood International Raceway.
-
O'Rourke then moved into the big time with a PSI-supercharged small-block Torana that set record times around the country in BB/AP and won many an event.
-
The car was eventually rebodied and became the wild yellow Torana that many recall fondly. Famed for top-gear wheelstands and runs that would go anything but straight, the diminutive Torana became the world's quickest small block sedan.
-
The move was then made to the current HK Monaro Top Doorslammer. The car has changed over the years, reaching its current PSI-supercharged form in early 2004.
